Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar in WrestleMania 38 Sunday night, the unification of the WWE and Universal Championships is in the process. “The Tribal Chief” finally took his first win over “The Beast” at WrestleMania by countering Lesnar’s F5 attempt and nailing him with another spear. Reigns successfully retained the Universal title at back-to-back WrestleManias, the first man to ever do so as part of his record-breaking championship run.
Reigns was recently a guest at Michael Kay Show in which he compared Michael Jordan in how he discovered motivation. His rivalry with Lesnar extends back to 2015, and although they shared the ring 11 times, Reigns now has a 3-2 record in singles matches against “The Beast”.
“Oh, of course, I totally respect him[Lesnar]but in that sense, when it goes one-on-one, in hand, you have to have some hate. Whether it’s in substance or not, you have to know, like Michael Jordan.” ‘I have to love motivating myself personally and holding onto anything I can bring myself into that main event energy to level this main event into championship defense mode. God mode, if you will,’ said Reigns.
“Yes, it would be a lot of respect for many different reasons,” he added. “Who he is as a performer and as an athlete. The history we have, the way it affected me and my career, the way it changed my mind, the things I learned, the things I did wrong, and how I got those things right. There are so many things I have to be grateful for. In my interactions with Brock, particularly what would happen at WrestleMania when I beat them, I cement that race as the greatest world champion of all time.”
